Hello. I've recently put a planning application in to open a little complementary therapy centre on London Road
, offering treatments like acupuncture, osteopathy, massage and reflexology.
I'm an acupuncturist, living and working in the area for three years, and I'm really happy that I've finally found premises to start a little centre. I've agreed to buy the shop at 12 London Road
, previously a minicab office, and the owner has kindly agreed to hold it for me while I pursue planning permission for the change of use.
The success of my project now hinges on getting planning permission. Today (Sunday 13th) is the last day for the council to receive any comments on the application, and I've heard on the grapevine that the they've received some objections. I'm having a last-minute panic!
I've been humming and ha-ing about asking here for support, it seems a bit pushy somehow, and I would certainly hate to offend anybody. Also of course being Sunday everyone will be off having nice barbies and not playing with the internet! If you're there though, and you might like to email the council in support of my applications, that would be really great of you.

I hope my centre will:
- Provide a much-needed local service
- Not create any disturbance to neighbouring homes or businesses
- Not generate additional car journeys (being so well served with public transport)
- Be a positive addition to London Road
, adding more variety
- Treat the historic fabric of 12 London Road
- Support the economic vibrancy of the area by growing my small business and providing premises for other self-employed therapists
