I suspect it was a scam but on the other hand I hope someone would help me if I were ever in such a situation, and £2 isn't much. (Though I admit I'm somewhat tempted to drop into The Rose and see if he's there.)

He could have been in there. They charge £4 for a pint of Guiness & a packet of chrisps

I was tackled by a girl of about 20 outside Waterloo station late one evening last month. She was in floods of tears, had been kicked out by her boyfriend and wanted a tenner to get the train home to Sevenoaks.

I too have been approached by this girl with the same story... when I said I was a student and didn't have any money to give her, she called me a b**ch and hoped I would fail my course!

£10 is just the amount you need for a bag of heroin. Unfortunately its these scammers who make you not trust anyone.

So the £35 I was originally asked for (see initial post at the start of this thread) would buy four bags of heroin, perhaps? Or a gram of heavily stepped-on coke?

The scam has been around for years, but the personnel change.

Aw, man, that guy in the link Al.W. posted is definitely my guy. Captain Panic, eh? He is good, I'll give him that.

This guy was back in action tonight. Unfortunately I didn't get a good look at him, but the spiel was the same as in days gone by: "Do you live round here? My name's Ali and I work at Principles" etc.
