Hi all. My name is Ania (SE1 resident) and I am a researcher at the LSE studying outsourcing of traditionally male household tasks. Any idea how I could gain access to households with dependent children and a resident father, which use services of a handyman or a gardener? I have tried leafleting and ads in 'Mumsnet' and 'Fatherhood Institute' and some other strategies - but very limited response to this. I'd appreciate any hints.
I realise that this is not what you hoped for but I couldn't resist it.
My other half views his household tasks this way; I'll put up a pot of coffee, his job is drinking it; I'll cook the dinner, his job is eating it; I make the bed, his job is sleeping in it.
The kicker is that he thinks he is getting away with it, if only he knew, the poor misguided fool!
