I know I'm always doing this, but could not find information on their site.

A 60 year old lady has just had a brain haemorraghe, she has been claiming her state pension since january. she still works tho' can she claim stat.sick pay?

Hi Jan. I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes" she can apply for Statutory Sick Pay and will be paid the benefit if she meets the criteria (earning over the required level, 95 per week I think, and sick for more than 4 days). Her company may offer benefits that are better than Statutory Sick Pay and it might be worthwhile enquiring about this as she should not be excluded from this on the grounds of age either.

Thank you Neil,

we trawled the sites yesterday and could not find anything that related to it. It's such a worry for them as no one knows what the long term consequences are for her.
