On the soap box.....Again.

I Read in the local paper last week that a twenty-five year old bloke had been found guilty at Basildon Crown Court of two rapes and a sexual assault. He was given two years for the assault and seven years for each of the rapes. Of course, the sentences are to run concurrently, which means he has in effect only been sentenced to a maximum of seven years. No doubt he will behave himself in prison and be out in four. I can't begin to imagine the trauma such attacks would have on a woman, but I would wager it would take more than four years to erase; if ever. This wasn't a one-off, where there was a 'misunderstanding' about consent. These were premeditated attacks where, in one of them, a young woman was pounced on and forced in to a block of flats where the offence occured.
I left school a long time ago but, back in the day, 7+7+2 = 16.
THAT is what the low-life should be serving.
