Kidding Ivanhoe...but since I'm one of the few people who really goes under his/her own name I'm making a point that anonymity is no excuse for being abusive or vitriolic. And I have always much respected James's polite but firm intervention if someone seems to be going too far.

I agree with you...on forums like this, where people post over long periods of time, it doesn't really matter whether someone uses a "real" name or not...they will still be known as helpful/angry/rude/lovely, according to their behaviour.
