You're right - he's a middle-class boy pretending he's upper-class.
The big giveaway was the telephone call to his mother. Upper-class people call their mothers "Mummy" and don't care who knows it.
I've nothing against middle or upper-class people, but I can't stand people who think they're better than other people because of the school they went to or the amount of money they've got. Or who pretend to be posher than they are. (And that includes Liz bloody Hurley.)
And if they ARE going to pretend, they could at least get it right!!
