Going through my Mums old sewing box for the first time since she died I found some old buttons, plus some modern looking ones stitched to a card , written underneath was ' handmade porcelain buttons by Susan Craswell' went online and very similar ones on identical card are in a manchester art gallery..

Does anyone know where the best place would be to enquire as to their worth? or any place online where i could see if there is any other place I could look for the other old metal ones, made in Paris by the look of it...

just in case there is any buttoneers out there lol...

You could also try the Victoria and Albert Museum, Jan. They are probably not that old but the V&A have loads of costume specialists who may be willing to help.

there is a clothes shop that specialises in vintage at the end long lane near where it meets bermondsey street, pop in they may know
