Can any SE1ers recommend any restaurants between Essex and London which would be suitable venues for a Valentine's Day meal?

Places like Upminster, Hornchurch, Barking, Dagenham, Newham, Docklands are where I know best, but I could stray off the path if needs be.

Female SE1ers - where would a girl really like to be taken on the day of love?

Help! Running low on ideas!

How about trying Plateau @ Canary Wharf. The views will be amazing from up there - and the food is great too!

See, I'm a true romantic at heart... I just need to find a date now!

As a humble administrator, Conran is a little outside of my budget range...

Ah, well fear not! How about the Elephant Royale? Its a great Thai restaurant, on the riverfront overlooking Greenwich?

Great food, good views, excellent service and not too bad on the pocket either!

I recommend avoiding Upminster, Hornchurch, Barking, Dagenham and Newham.

Ah yes TLMJJ - you're from Essex. I thought Hornchurch was meant to have some nice restaurants. Where would you like to be taken in Essex for a nice meal out then?

That's a query, not an offer!!!

it's called little hammonds... used to be the bakers... half decent country fare, if memory serves me.

I'm from North East Essex, but as I left when I was 19 I can't really recommend anywhere as Sloppy Joes in Colchester was a treat for me then!
