I read with amusement yesterday, that Spike Milligan had finally triumphed in his wishes to have a specific phrase on his headstone. Apparently, the church did not "think it appropriate" and had refused. Court case, blah blah blah, finally allowed, but written in gaelic.

"I told you I didn't feel well"

lolol

What would you have on yours ??

Not in line with my beliefs but amusing nonetheless:

All dressed up
And no place to go.

Former Doctor Who, Tom Baker lives next door to a cemetary. He tells the story of how he bought a gravestone for himself, for when he is buried there. On it is carved, TOM BAKER. He got up one morning to find that someone had added, "is a twat".

Remember, Man,
as you walk by,
as you are now,
so once was I;
As I am now,
so you must be.
Prepare for death
and follow me.

Here lie the remains of Jonathan Robinson
(if someone hasn't knicked them)
Born 1976 - died 2086
in bed asleep with his wife
loved by the entire family
who gave him no strife
gone but not forgotten.

Not strictly an epitaph but could be I guess - one rule in my life my old grandad always told me:

"Life's not a rehearsal, so live it"
