The strangest thing about last night's dream was that although spiders terrify me in real life, in my dream I wasn't at all upset by the tarantula, even when it crawled onto my head.

This is truly disturbing stuff - has the French cheese stall in Borough market been selling out of date Vacherin?

Last night I dreamt I went to Plum's house, which was in Bermondsey, although Bermondsey itself resembled the village I grew up in. It was a nice little house, and her six black kittens were darlings. Plum was an excellent hostess, as ever.

I remember more about this dream-time visit than I do about visiting Plum's house in real life after the social.

It took a week off work (with lots of catching up on sleep) to make me have a dream that I could remember.

And when I did, it was a real disappointment.

Any tips for having interesting dreams greatly appreciated, M'Lady.

I seem to have a nocturnal obsession with members of this forum - not sure why. I find I tend to only remember dreams if I wake up while I'm still dreaming.

I dreamt that I dwelt in marble halls,
With vassals and serfs at my side,
And of all who assembled within those walls,
That I was the hope and the pride.
I had riches too great to count
Could boast of a high ancestral name;
But I also dreamt, which pleased me most,
That you lov'd me still the same
That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same,
That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same.

I dreamt that suitors sought my hand;
That knights upon bended knee,
And with vows no maiden heart could withstand
They pledg'd their faith to me;
And I dreamt that one of that noble host
Came forth my hand to claim.
But I also dreamt, which pleased me most,
That you lov'd me still the same
That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same,
That you lov'd me, you lov'd me still the same.

And I love you all too.

Dream interpretation is quite simple, Tharg. You are actually an aristocrat stolen by a gypsy woman, slighted by your father .

A pedant adds...
Shouldn't the second verse reprise be
"But I also dreamt, which charmed me most,"

Would anyone remember this sentimental song if it weren't for Laurel and Hardy's version of The Bohemian Girl ???

That gypsy woman cost me my inheritance.
