Hi All,
Anyone interested in doing the friday skate in Hyde park on Friday 8pm.
I'm sure there's some closet skaters amongst you lot:)

The Friday skate starts at Hyde Park but takes a different route around London on a Friday evening I think.

I haven't been on my skates for about a year and I don't think I'd be confident enough to hit the streets just yet.

I absolutely will dig them out soon and get back on them though.

Thanks for reminding me!

Hi Birdie,
Sure, dig them out, actually ,in Hyde Park they have a practice area where you can get
re aquainted with your skating muscles. This morning I'm going to pop over there
and see what gives with skaters over there in general.
Yes your right the Friday night skate does take a different route each time.
Its also a cool way to get some exercise.

I used to skate along Serpentine Road when I first started - it's a great place to practice!

Speaking of cool ways to exercise - I've recently been introduced to the Playstation Dance Mat...a girlfriend of mine has two connected up to her Playstation.

Basically you have to step on different bits of the mat in time with the music - but it's a lot harder than it sounds and is actually amazingly good exercise.

Whichever game she has actually has a horrifying "work out" feature where it just keeps going for a set period until it thinks you've done enough evercise - but the kind of arcade dance off style game is much more fun (especially if there's three or four of you competing against each other after a bottle (or two) of wine).

There's a clip on the net of some guy doing a highly complicated dance routine on one of them whilst juggling three clubs. No-one likes a smart-arse though, eh?

Where is Serpentine Road?

I went over to Hyde park this morning and its pretty cool,
there's a big stretch down the middle which skaters use everyday, long and smooth.
Quite a few beginners actually,
Let me know if you wanna give it a shot.
