Did anyone see the Telegraph article yesterday on E&C the up and coming place for clever money?

'As developers plot a smash hit, its time to grab a bargain'

'according to Movingspace.com there is a waiting list for Metro Central Heights as owners hang back waiting for prices to soar'

'E&C is the London growth spot according to Channel 4 Location Location Location'

hope some of this rubs off on New Cross Gate sandwiched between the desirable E&C and the Olympics!

When we were in Hong Kong last yr, the papers were well supplied with ad's touting MCH and similar as a great investment. Quite a surprise to go away and see SE1 in the papers.

"If you build it..."

...if you press it, they will come.

This forum is starting to feel a bit like a dinner party during the late 1980's where we all congratulate ourselves for having bought in the right place at the right time.

Then all choked on our smugness.

I don't really understand why the property boom continues to boom. We can't move as we could not afford the stamp duty let alone the additional mortgage, so house prices have become a little irrelevent. Plus we don't get invited to dinner parties any more. (Indeed does anyone have dinner parties anymore?)

A downturn in house prices, both here and abroad would lead to a decline in Sunday property supplements and the endless TV property programmes.

I tend to scan the articles to see if they mention this site. They rarely do, though it looks as if at least a few journos crib information from here. If they don't meniton the London SE1 Website they clearly don't know much about the area.
