Possibly the hottest day on record coming up - avoid the tubes and buses tomorrow (unless you want to cook something...)

Never mind the tube, - it's 32deg inside the office today. At this temperature it is very hard to concentrate on my current (boring) work and my mind keeps wandering towards 'is this legal?

i think the legal limit is 35

I don't think there is a legal maximum temperature limit.... unless the law's changed in the last couple of years.

I don't think there is a maximum either.

I wish I had air con at home - my office is cool but my flat is like a furnace.

There isn't a set maximum temp, but an obligation to maintain a temperature in places of work which is reasonably comfortable. Where maintaining a reasonable temperature is impractical all "reasonable steps" should be taken to achieve a temperature which is as close as possible to comfortable.

In our Brussels office, this equates to the entire office stopping work between 3pm and 4pm on very hot days whilst ice-creams are distributed (free).

Hmmm, I think a transfer might be in order...
