Hello, I'm trying to fight the flab and would really like to hire a rowing machine ( so much more peaceful than running/skiing/etc machines
). It seems it's really easy to hire one in scotland but not at all easy in london! Any ideas...?

PS really don't want to join a gym yuk, yuk, yuk!

Hi Wilma, rather than hiring, why not have a look on ebay, you could probably get one new very cheaply and would be a fraction of the cost of renting one or getting a gym membership. Alternatively, try maybe someone is giving one away! Good luck! :c)

concept2 hire out machines, see:

The concept2 machines are the ones you'll see in pretty much any gym, but their hire charges are a bit steep.

The concept machines are a pretty good secondhand buy as well, as they are fairly indestructable and hold their value - I bought one for 800 from Concept about four years ago and sold it two years later for 780 on Ebay
