Hello ...
You might remember the issues I ran into with my website ....
http://www.london2012rentmyhouse.com
The website is inspired by events during Sydney 2000 Olympics when local homeowners contributed to the Games by letting their homes. This was also presented a financial opportunity for them.
LOCOG have recognised my idea (including Seb Coe) - but due to the Olympic Act small / tiny businesses and individual tax payers are not allowed to use Olympic marks in any shape or form to benefit (even if it is to provide a service).
Of course, the rich sponsors need to be protected, but with the business opportunites the Games will bring to the UK (London in particular) should others - tax and national lottery paying sponsors - also be allowed to have a piece of the action?. The Tax Payers Alliance estimate the cost of the Games to reach £12.6 bn. Ouch!.
As for my website, media coverage to date (BBC, newspaper) can be seen on my website under 'media;. Discussion is still on going and I will provide an udpdate soon.
Your comments please .........
Regards
Matt
