Does anyone know of anywhere relatively local to go blackberry picking? We are not looking for industrial quantities ... or even enough to make jam ... just enough to satisfy the curiousity of a very persistant four-year old!

well, there's a Mulberry tree in Burgess park. And I'm pretty certain that I've had blackberries from there too. The scrubby bit just north of the lake south of Albany (iirc) street.

We have tended to make a day of it and go to Hampstead Heath. Tooting and Wandsworth Commons - and presumably Streatham, are good.

Blackberries this year are very good. But quite early...so be quick.

You could try looking for the local sewage works... it sounds odd, but it's often a good way to get great berries!

Have fun

Hyde Park is good.

There is a mulberry tree in Burgess Park.

Unfortunately Tescos on the Old Kent Road got rid of their quince bushes.

Ruskin Park provided a healthy harvest.
