Everyone sitting on the edge of the sofa, watching BBC, CNN and Fox on different channels or is that just us?

I am elated. Got up at 4h30 and am watching history being written.

America, thank goodness, came to its senses.

HALLELUJA! This guy is a class act! Mark and Katia, so sorry I didnt know you were up, I'd have joined you. Was up ALL night and finally had a nap after the acceptance speech. At last the USA has done the right thing. I'm so relieved for the PLANET...I was seriously worried about Sarah Palin being within a heartbeat of the presidency. Whew! Thank God THAT's over. I feel I've been running myself! I began this thread way back, stomped off in fury at one of the posters, but will not lose this opportunity to sign off and say this was the most riveting drama I've ever followed. Happy end. Onward and upward Obama!!!

To me Obama has done the easy part in winning the election (and thank god he did!) i just hope he can deliver the promise and turn the USA's fortunes around!!

Yep, we waited until the acceptance speech. We're thrilled. I am also pleased at the scale of the win. 349 electoral college votes so far and 52% of the popular vote is just great.

Excellent news and excellent speach by Obama. I have to say also that McCain made a very gracious speech accepting defeat.

McCain's speech was good. "I wish Godspeed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my president."
