What should be in our updated forum rules?

One of the key messages from our recent survey of users of this website is that too often people are deterred from taking part in the forum due to a fear that they will get hostile responses.

Our forum rules need a rewrite - please use this thread to post your ideas for what should be included.

Have a look at these community guidelines for an example of what other sites are doing: http://boingboing.net/community - there are some nice phrases/sentiments there.

Hi James,

Like the example provided, its short and to the point. I would probably add 'If you have nothing nice to say, better say nothing'
