Did you manage to complete the upgrade of Phorum/all the spring cleaning you had hoped to while the forums were down?

Or - if Phorum is anything like database software experienced by myself and colleages - did you retire from the fray defeated by the bloody awful instructions/ help (!?!) package provided with most such software products?

Thanks again for all your efforts.

As you have noticed, nothing has changed on the forum (yet!)

You correctly guessed that the process turned out to be more complicated than anticipated - largely due to the huge number of messages in the database.

The conversion script managed to get through the database tables for SE1 Discussion and Chatter, but fell over when it got to Feedback (too much cider in Chatter?) and - crucially - before it got round to converting the table with the user data.

I shall have another go later in the week. One of the developers of Phorum has tweaked the conversion script and added better error tracking so we might be able to find out what the problem is.
