in the By Cuisine submenu, could you add British? (surely there are one or two places to which that description applies). i imagine there may be some debate as to what it should include - my preference would be speciality british restautants ie no cafs, chippies or normal pubs.

dimitrid - can you come up with half-a-dozen local restaurants that should go in a 'British' category?

I'm quite happy to add such a category but thinks like 'modern British' and 'modern European' seem harder to pin down than some other cuisines.

well, it's certainly tricky. whenever foreign friends come to visit and ask to go to a british restaurant, i always find myself struggling to think of anything beyond 'go to the pub', where no doubt they get served lasagna and thai.

i think the anchor & hope is british (with heavy french influence), and magdalen seems to be of the same ilk (judging by the reviews - i've not yet been there). any other suggestions? to be honest, i think that british cuisine is always going to be heavily french influenced due to the history of how british cuisine developed.

maybe modern european or north european would be a better category, and you could include british/german/baltic/scandawegian?

Fish and Chips - Fishcoteque (sp?) is rather good. yes it has a bit of the 'greasy spoon' feel about it, but the fish and chips are lovely!

There's a Chinese take away which I think is still on Tooley Street (or might just cross over in Jamaica Road). They're good value for money, but I can't find the take away's on the food&drink lists?

james - is there any reason why the post review button does not appear for certain restaurants, such as Rajdoot?

No reason at all! Should be fixed now; thanks for pointing it out.
