A year ago we opened a suggestion box to hear your ideas for what we could do to improve this website in 2006.
12 months and 4.9 million page views later, we would very much like your ideas for 2007.
I'd be very grateful if you could spare a moment to head over to http://www.london-se1.co.uk/suggestionbox/ and jot down any thoughts about how we could make this site more useful and more relevant to you.
The comments last year were many and varied. Some were simple ideas that were easy to implement straight away - eg:
can you change the default time period in the forum search function to all dates rather than last 30 days
(It now seaches the last year by default.)
Others commented on features they particularly appreciated, such as the News Map which was then a recent innovation.
Another example of something we have tried to act on this year:
More linkage between the forum and the other parts of the site - so if a restaurant is mentioned on the forum, the link is included on the Restaurants and Bars page
And this one got implemented recently:
If there was a way of gathering people's recommendations for plumbers / butchers / electricians etc on a single page that would be great.
if you haven't looked already.
Someone else asked for more RSS feeds. We've added loads of feeds during the year, and look out for more in 2007.
Those are just a few examples to show that we did take on board and implement many of the things suggested in last year's exercise.
Please let us know how we can make the site better - whether it's by fixing some small irritation or adding a major new feature.
