The Bermondsey Street Area Partnership (BSAP) is exploring the possibility of organising a street party at some point over the holiday weekend. Aiming to keep it simple - so not another Bermondsey Street Festival (that is exhausting enough to organise - and we are always on the look out for volunteers!). Just tables with overflow in Tanner St Park. Bring your own food / chairs / friends / neighbours etc. No food stall or anything. If we can make it all work out I'll keep the thread updated.
Yes, I had heard about the street party on Bermondsey Street as well

Hi Mark,

Are there still plans for a Bermondsey Street Party? I think it will be such a fantastic event and I would love to be involved in a event on the day.

I live near Tower Bridge road near Bermondsey Street and would love to volunteer if you still need another pair of hands!

Let me know

Thanks

Nikki

Hi Mark, has anything been confirmed about a street party on Bermondsey street? Thanks

Yes, there will be 60 tables, running from Tanner Street to Bermondsey Square, and the street party is 1-5pm. All are welcome!

The party will start with St Mary's church bells ringing at 1pm then everybody sits down to lunch - the idea is to bring something & share food. A band will be playing.

There is also a fancy dress competition - 1950s for adults & anything for kids. Plus a cake baking competition outside the White Cube Gallery with judging at 3pm. Then St Mary's Church will be serving tea/coffee at 4pm.

Am sure there is other stuff happening, but that is all I can remember! I will be there & am very excited!

The street party on Bermondsey Street is taking place on Monday 4 June, btw. It means that we will be able to watch the Jubilee flotilla along the Thames on Sunday, 3 June.
