The foodies met on 16 September at my house. We tried the Sanisbury's sparking house with canapes of crostini with mozzarella and sun dried tomatoes. Starters were prepared by Plum with warm asparagus wrapped in parma ham with parmesan shavings. This was accompanied by Felton Road Pinot Noir 2010. I provided the mains chicken cacciatore with new potatoes, roast squash with chilli and cinnamon and oven baked courgettes with lemon. With this we had Ocean's Edge Pinot Noir 2009 and Brouilly 2010.
For desert we were very lucky that Jac is baking for a part-work at the moment so we got to sample a glorious fig tarte tatin with rosemary, blackberry baked cheesecake, and orange polenta cake. With this we had Chateau Roumeur Sauternes 2008 and Cointreau.
Not bad for a Sunday evening. We had a guest foodie for the evening, Jamie, and two of my children who somehow managed to muscle their way into dinner
