Does anyone have any experience of getting the council to install a door entry system.

Our building has none and the local kids often come into the building to hang out, often vandalising while they're there.

We want to know how do we begin to get the council to even look at the possibility of a door entry system.

I would e-mail your three local Councillors making your case, and copy in the Cabinet Member for Housing Management (Ian Wingfield).

If they're reluctant, it'll probably be because those people who have bought their flats, and therefore would have to pay their share of the cost, find it a lot less "urgent" than those who remain tenants. Unsquareable circle, but getting owner-occupiers on board with your case from the off will help you here.

Totally agree, going to your local council authority is the key. In terms of the length of time for resolve, that will obviously be undetermined. Let me know how you got in with your situation.

A basic door entry system is required for this particular situation. One does recommend the likes of SRS or Door entry Direct, for a good quality one. Even if it's just advice they will provide it.

As for future security, ensuring your property is safe, should be at the top of your list!
