Globe unveils 2000 season

Booking for the Globe's 2000 season opens this month. The Tempest, with Vanessa Redgrave as Prospero, will be the first production in the 12 May to 23 September season. Also opening in May is Hamlet with Mark Rylance in the title role. In late July the rarely seen Two Noble Kinsmen, maybe Shakespeare's last work, will be performed. In August The Antipodes comedy by Richard Brome will demonstrate the therapeutic role of theatre itself. Also in the summer programme is the return of the Comedy Store Players (19 June), a jazz night marking the Company of Musicians 500th anniversary (3 July) and WOMAD (16 July).
