London SE1 website team

The new Greater London Authority headquarters next to Potters Fields is due to be topped out this month.

The event, on Tuesday morning 3 July, will mark the completion of the steel structure in the distinctive light bulb shape.

Construction remains on schedule with the Mayor and GLA expected to move in in exactly one year's time on the second birthday of London's new government.

Also due to be present at the topping out ceremony are the building's architect Lord Foster, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone and minister for London Nick Raynsford.
