London SE1 website team

Police inquiries are continuing into the death of a millionaire property developer found hanged in Cornwall the day after his wife was discovered strangled in Mill Street, Bermondsey.

The dead man, whose body was found at his home in Feock on Wednesday, has named by police as 51-year-old Peter Grant.

His home in the village has recently appeared in a local newspaper advertised for sale at £750,000.

Police went to the house after the body of his 50-year-old wife Lynne – also named by police – was found on Tuesday at a flat in Mill Street.

It has been suggested that police were alerted to the Mill Street death by a phone callm, believed to have been from Mr Grant.

A post-mortem has revealed that Mrs Grant died from strangulation.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said no one else was being sought in connection with the two deaths.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said their officers had travelled to Cornwall to take part in the joint investigation into the deaths, which were linked.
