Pulp play surprise SE1 gig

Pulp made a surprise live appearance on Bankside when they performed material from the group's forthcoming album to 600 surprised onlookers.

Singer Jarvis Cocker, guitarist Mark Webber and keyboard player Candida Doyle sang from their forthcoming album in a marquee behind Southwark Cathedral.

An eyewitness at the show said that the performance came as a shock. "It looked like he decided to do it on the spur of the moment."

The show was not without its glitches. Halfway through Roadkill the electricity supply to the stage failed.
