Money Box by Nicholas Kirk Architects is part of a series of new benches around the Square Mile and London Bridge commissioned by the London Festival of Architecture.

"Over the centuries, traders, manufacturers, workers and business people of all descriptions have used London Bridge as a gateway to the City," said Nadia Broccardo, executive director of Team London Bridge.

"Under the gaze of the striking new London Bridge station, The Money Box bench marks a place where journeys are started and finished, and where hundreds of thousands of people travel to daily to earn a living.

"We're delighted that we are able to host Nicholas Kirk Architects' work in the area, offering respite to commuters and a place to contemplate our travels."

London Bridge is one of the 'focus areas' for this year's London Festival of Architecture which continues until the end of June.
