A man has been killed by a window panel which fell from the top of a new block of luxury flats on the Albert Embankment.

Emergency services were called to Albert Embankment at about 10.40am on Tuesday.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A penthouse in the development – which is nearing completion and partially occupied – is on the market for £22 million.

The Corniche – designed by Foster & Partners – has been built on the site of a former Government office block by developer St James, part of the Berkeley Group.
