Southwark resident Patrick Stewart takes the lead in Edward Bond's dramatic take on the final chapter of the life of Shakespeare.

With the glory years of London behind him, William Shakespeare finds himself in a moral dilemma. Faced with the same situation as his greatest creation King Lear, what should he do with his land and his power?

After a spectacular career portraying many of Shakespeare's greatest characters - most recently in Macbeth and Hamlet - Patrick Stewart now plays the playwright himself.
