The various ways in which design has helped athletes break records and push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible.

The exhibition looks at performance, safety, and material innovations.

The exhibition will reference key moments where design has played a significant role in progressing sports, and investigate cases where sporting bodies have intervened to limit the effects of new sporting equipment.

The exhibition will also look at key moments where sporting innovations have been celebrated and expressed through visual culture by designers, photographers and artists, celebrating both the function and beauty of sports design.
