Shakespeare's Bankside

This event is in the past. This is an archive page for reference.

In Shakespeare's day, Bankside was a bustling waterfront of theatres, taverns, bear-pits and 'stews'. From Ned Alleyn to Moll Cut-purse, the walk conjures up a gallery of vivid Elizabethan characters.

Led by local writer John Constable, author of The Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside - Walks In The Outlaw Borough.
