Hollywood screenwriter Gil is contemplating giving up his life behind the film cameras to pen his first novel. His beautiful fiancee, Inez, supports him but her well-to-do parents are dismissive of the change in career, expecting Gil to fall at the first draft. Whilst on holiday in Paris, Gil takes a wrong turn down a side street and is magically transported back to the 1920s.
