In 1824, Charles Dickens' father was imprisoned for debt in the Marshalsea Prison. This walk explores Dickens' childhood encounter with the Victorian underworld, visiting the places which cast a shadow over his entire life and inspired scenes in novels from Little Dorrit to Oliver Twist.

Led by John Constable, author of The Southwark Mysteries and Secret Bankside.
