This evening tour provides a rare opportunity to tour Frame House, a slender prototype infill
four storey house, by Carl Turner Architects.
In support of the Open City charity's ongoing programmes Carl Turner will host this evening tour of his client's home.
This demanding site informed the design which focuses on its presence to the street, contrasting its brick surroundings with the simple use of glass, steel and render, reflecting the sky.
Internally industrial finishes dominate the interior of this design using an industrial aesthetic with exposed concrete ceilings and walls, polished concrete floors and galvanised steel finishes.
Large, bespoke sliding doors in the facade design maximise light. At third floor level, a courtyard at the rear brings more light and links to the roof terrace above with views across the surrounding rooftops and Renzo Piano's hulking Shard.
