Potmaking at Bankside foreshore

Bankside STEWards invite you to join them at the pot making for the Firing on the Foreshore event
at The Mayor's Thames Festival.

Each year Bankside STEWards fire clay pots on two fires at Bankside during the Thames Festival. This year, the event will take place on 8 September.

The group needs objects to fire so they would like you to help to make pots made with Thames clay to fire using Thames driftwood on the foreshore.

No previous experience needed – just bags of enthusiasm! Artist Edith Slee will be on hand with lots of ideas.

Suitable for all ages.

Bankside STEWards is a network of local residents and business contacts committed to caring for and promoting the past, present and future of the archaeology and environment of the Thames foreshore between Blackfriars and London Bridges at Bankside. They are an Adopt-a-River group of Thames21.
