Henry Cornelius, UK, 1949, 84 mins

Passport to Pimlico is perhaps the best example of Ealing's postwar films and their sense of revolution and social comment.

Stanley Holloway, Betty Warren and Paul Dupuis are some of the inhabitants of a London street who discover buried treasure and documents proving they are really citizens of Burgundy. So when the government tries to claim the treasure for the Crown, the residents declare their independence.
