As part of The Tree Council's new Fruitful Hedges project, Carole Wright and local volunteers are coming together to plant 60 metres of fruiting hedge and fruit and nut trees in memory of Tom Carroll, late caretaker of Friars Primary School and active member of the local community.

"It will it will be good for people and for wildlife and a fitting tribute to Tom and his family" said Carole Wright.

A further planting session will be held on the Dodson and Amigo Estate from 2pm to 4pm this Saturday.

The first sessions were held last week at Friars Primary School and the Brookwood Triangle.

The final session will take place this summer at Peabody Square off Blackfriars Road.
