An Introduction to Playwriting

This is a day long course which will cover the basics of dramatic writing, introduce practical playwriting skills and encourage you to develop an idea for a play. Suitable for beginners, with no prior writing experience.

Led by Jemma Kennedy, who was the Pearson Playwright in residence at the National Theatre in 2010/11 and currently has a play in the 2013 NT Connections portfolio. She has had work performed at the Unicorn Theatre, Soho Theatre and on Radio 4. Jemma devised the New Views online playwriting programme for the NT and has taught playwriting at Manchester Met University, the Arvon Foundation and City Lit.
