An exhibition combining two themes: 'A Natural Order'reflects the synthesis in thinking in the fields of physics, ecology and mathematics that suggests a fundamental orderliness underlying the apparent chaos of natural phenomena.
This orderliness generates repeated patterns, revealed in both living and inanimate matter at different scales. 'Elements' evokes the atmosphere of place.
One of the pleasures of photography is the ability to record the experience of a place vividly and accurately, but the process of selection is key to successfully capturing the spirit of a place.
This, combined with Alan's painterly approach, results in images that seem to reveal the quintessential atmosphere of his subjects.
Alan Hayward has exhibited over the last 30 years in Australia,India and the UK. He prints his own images, sometimes over a metre square, on watercolour paper and canvas.
