Apple Day at Borough Market

This family festival of appley delights offers visitors the chance to sample an array of apple varieties, along with limited edition products such as preserves, breads and juices.

Apple Day celebrates the complete lifecycle of the apple and apple growers as Borough Market traders will be on hand to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for all things apple.

Get stuck into chocolate coated toffee apples, apple cider truffles or apple rings dipped in cinnamon fudge.

The team behind the market's new on-site bakery will also be on hand at 1pm with an interactive demonstration on how to make an apple strudel.

There will also be a chance to try your hand at traditional games and entertainment including the famous apple peeling competition, apple bobbing and morris dancing.

The celebrations will continue with a performance of 'The True Tales of Robin Hoode' by local theatre company the Lions part who will be bringing with them a cornucopia of Autumnal games, music and story-telling.

Southwark Cathedral will also mark Apple Day with a short act of harvest worship in the market.

The event will support local SE1 homelessness projects.
