The festival will take place in a stylized Ukrainian village during a traditional country fair. Artisans will offer workshops in their craft free to the public and a gala concert at the closing.
The Festival mastermind, popular Ukrainian musician Oleh Skrypka, is the founder of Ukraine's biggest international folk music festival, Kraina Mriy or Land of Dreams.
All visitors are welcome to join workshops in a number of traditional Ukrainian crafts such as pottery, wreath-making, working with quartz. Or learn how to cook traditional Ukrainian dishes – varenyky (dumplings) and borshch. A variety of activities are designed especially for children, such as making clay animal whistles, weaving ponies of straw and twine, baking birds out of dough, and painting Easter eggs. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the musical games presented by the children's folklore ensemble Raihorodok.
The main stage will feature Ukrainian folk, contemporary and cross-over bands, among them Vopli Vidopliasova, led by Oleh Skrypka and accompanied by Le Grand Orchestra, Astarta and Folknery (folk), Krosna (authentic) — and Kozak System and Taras Chubai, classics of Ukrainian rock.
