Women's Day Walk

Celebrate Women's history on CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle, a guided, stigma-busting cultural walk, designed to encourage mental health and physical wellbeing through art, exercise, humour and history.

This month's walk starts at the Maudsley Hospital SE5 and ends at the Feminist Library SE1.

March's Largactyl Shuffle will make its way through Ruskin Park, Myatts Fields and other green spaces to celebrate International Women's Day and uncover stories of inspirational women from Southwark and Lambeth.

The walkers will be stopping for short talks along the way on Olive Morris, who set up the Brixton Black Women's Group; the writer, philosopher and advocate for women's rights, Mary Wollstonecraft; South London's contemporary women artists; WWI and the empowerment of women, and much more.

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water.

Largactyl Shuffle walks are suitable for all levels of walking and are accessible to wheelchair users and people with disabilities.

The walk leaders wear orange high-viz vests and rucksacks. Call CoolTan Arts on 07985 658443 if you cannot find the walking group on the day.
