Dr Clare Hickman will be leading a walk exploring the historic green spaces in the Lambeth area as part of this yearís Chelsea Fringe Festival. This tour will take in the gardens of St Thomasís hospital, look at the role of nineteenth century women such as Florence Nightingale and Octavia Hill on urban spaces, explore the old Bethlem hospital landscape, and consider urban planning and the importance of public parks. Dr Hickman will talk about the role that ideas of health and disease have played in the development of our urban spaces.

Meet at 2pm by the fountain between Westminster Bridge and St Thomas' Hospital.
