'Twas the Night before Christmas

CAA's seasonal selling exhibition 2014 will present a dazzling array of one-off, handmade objects. Ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, metalwork and furniture, made especially for the show by some of Britain's finest applied artists, will be displayed throughout the shop and gallery and beneath the glittering lights of a giant fir tree.

'Twas the Night before Christmas pays homage to Clement Clarke Moore's famous and charming poem, A Visit from St Nicholas [1823], and uses as inspiration some of the evocative and delightful phrases contained within…'new fallen snow', 'visions of sugarplums' and 'the lustre of midnight', to name just a few. These words and the works on sale at CAA will conjure a vivid picture of the magic of both winter and Christmas. With a wide price range, from 'affordable' to 'payday' to 'blow the budget' to 'collector', a visit to CAA in Bankside is a must this December.

The crafted work in this show will include a wide range of objects, some of them inspired by the domestic setting of the poem, others simply expressing our maker members' favourite aspects of winter and the festive season. A variety of fun and eye-catching imaginative tree decorations, which have become a firm favourite with our customers in recent years, will also be available.
