The Mayor of Southwark Cllr Sunil Chopra is inviting all who live, work, or study in the borough to join him for the annual Southwark Civic Service.
The service - jointly organised by the Mayor's Office, Southwark Cathedral and Borough Market - will celebrate 1,000 years of Borough Market in Southwark.
The gathering will be addressed by the Dean of Southwark, Very Revd Andrew Nunn, and Cllr Peter John, leader of Southwark Council.
Music will be provided by the Southwark Cathedral Singers, ARK All Saints' Academy Choir and the David Idowu Choir.
A special poem has been commissioned to mark the occasion, written and performed by Suléy Muhidin, a former Southwark Council apprentice and now a member of staff in the council's community engagement division.
A selection of Borough Market produce will be on display and the vice chair of the trustees of Borough Market, David Lyon, will also be taking part in the service.
