Helen Duncan, a Scottish medium notorious for producing ectoplasm, also known as Hellish Nell, was the last Briton to be imprisoned under the 1735 Witchcraft Act.

Upon her verdict & sentance Duncan cried, "I have done nothing; is there a God?"
