Victorian Mechanical Music

A display and demonstration of Victorian mechanical musical instruments on the panoramic high-level Walkways of Tower Bridge.

Barrel organs, musical boxes, early gramophones and other mechanical wonders were programmed to perform popular airs, hymns, overtures and arias.

Items include the Tomasso Street Barrel Piano, which plays 'Roll out the Barrel' and the wind-up Horn Gramophone of 1900, complete with the HMV dog Nipper.

The exhibits are loaned by the Horniman Museum and by the Musical Museum which re-opens later this year in upstream Brentford.

Ticket also includes visit to other parts of Tower Bridge.
